Molasses Cookies: who doesn’t love cookies?

Cookies are the universal crowd-pleasing treat-irresistibly sweet, conveniently portable and so much fun to eat. Baking these old fashioned Molasses Cookies can create wonderful memories, establish family traditions, bring friends together, and even relieve stress! Enjoy this one.

4 cups of flour
2 teaspoons Baking Soda
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of salt
1 ½ cups of molasses
½ cup of shortening
1/3 cup of hot water

Mix flour, baking soda, spices and salt. In another bowl, mix the molasses, shortening and water. Add to the first mix. Blend well together and let sit in the fridge for two hours.

Roll out the dough, cut with cookies cutters and bake for 12 minutes at 375F, on a well greased cookie sheet.

*drop half of teaspoon of strawberry jam in the middle of one cookie, cover with another one and bake.
