Just because people are asking, here is what I use to take my ‘never ending passion for photography…’ photos.
I am in no way a professional, just an ordinary woman with a passion for transferring my ‘feelings for beautiful things’ into the eye of my camera.
My cameras
My main camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T1i 500D, which I just love. I got it about 2 years ago and still find it a completely mystery and a ‘rebel’ in itself. So much possibilities are existing into that little jewel, each photo taken with this Canon just blows my eyes away.
HTC sensation
My Android phone.
This phone has an amazing camera inside and takes very nice photos on the go.
iPad 2, 3G, 64GB
I use the camera on the iPad, once in a while, mainly at home.
Sony Cybershot
Amazing the little camera, it has everything I need for a portable, hide away camera: a point and shoot camera basically.
Tripod
This tripod is not too heavy, perfect to carry around and has different levels on it to adjust the ‘level’ of the camera. I rarely take it with me on the road. I use it mainly at home, to take photos of my cooking
I also have a mini tripod, seen of the picture above.
Lenses
99.9% of the time, I use my lens that came with my Canon : EFS 18-55mm. It is great and does deliver what I am expecting.
I have this one also: Canon EF 28-135mm Ultrasonic lens, which I have yet to master. It is a bit heavy so I have a tendency to kind of forget about it…
This Fujiyama spends more time in its wrapping than on my Canon. Still working into integrating it into my works… It is a digital wide converter w/macro 0.5x 72mm. Nice title…
Camera bag
This Tenba is my bag to carry my gears when I travel by plane. A bit pricy but it is a wonderful bag, full of pockets here and there. Very light, very versatile and one future I like about it is that there is a zipper on the very top of the bag that permits me to grab my camera in a hurry if needed, without having to unleash the main lid. It come in a variety of colors which is a bonus for me! I like pretty things.
When I just travel around, here and there, I use an over the shoulder plain purse that I just empty and place my Canon inside, with detachable padded sides from another bags.
Downloading, editing, etc…
Lately, I have been looking into the program : Photo Mechanic to download my photos. It is a nice program, still looking into it.
Presently, I use Picasa 3 to download and to archive all my photos.
To edit, I use Photoshop CS5 primary to re-size and to play with saturation if needed. To me, if the photo is perfect, I do not touch it.
So here are the steps of what I do once I get home from taking pictures:
I download the photos into Picasa and if needed, I retouch them with Photoshop. Then, I download the finish photos into my Flickr account on line and directly from there, I use the photos to push them into my blog.
In conclusion, at one point, I have to stop buying photo gears and just take shoots. It is not the fancy gears that make the best photo in the world but the passion, the feeling I feel when I see something. My opinion.
