Why making my own toothpaste this morning? Simple, I am just tired of brushing my teeth with sugar. For the last 15 months or so, no matter what kind of brand of toothpaste I buy here, the taste of sugar is overwhelming in it. I looked and looked the ingredients, did search on the internet to resolve this mystery. There is a very distinct taste of sugar in each one of them, that I buy here. So I made my own this morning.
Homemade toothpaste is pretty simple to make and any essence flavor could be used here but of course, peppermint is the best. The amount of salt can be cut out of the recipe if you prefer. This particular toothpaste kills in a second, the taste of onions… FYI
2/3 cup baking soda
1 to 2 teaspoons of salt
2 teaspoons of peppermint essence (cake essence)
Enough water to make a paste
Keep in small containers, and brush away! Amazing… finally a toothpaste made for me!
