I seem to do better in baking and cooking when the recipe is in my head. All the ingredients coming out from my imagination always work very well together, like if I were creating magic out of my passion for food…Pears served on a sweet golden blanket of dough. As we are approaching to the festivities of Christmas, what could be better of a serving of this delicious fruit. I used dried pears and cooked them to softness. No need to add sugar to the mixture, the dried fruit is sweet enough. Enjoy this bite with a warm cup of tea.
2 cups of dried pears cooked in water until softness and then, blend in a blender until a soft jam consistency
Pie crust
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of butter
1 tablespoon of grounded almonds
½ cup of jam (any kind will do, I used a golden one like orange or peach)
1 tablespoon of orange liquor, added to the pears mixture
Spray the dough in a well greased round pan. Sprinkle a bit of sugar over the dough and lay the pears mix over. Spray the jam and the almonds. Finish with another sprinkle of the sugar and little pieces of butter all over the surface.
Bake at 375F for 35 minutes. Serve with crème fraiche or a line of melted chocolate as garnish.
