My favorite ingredients that I like in a cookie are : Rice Krispies, brown sugar, raisins, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and coffee. Now keeping that in mind, I have created La Belle Aurore Cookies. These are my cookies, served first thing in the morning, with a very strong and hot cup of coffee!
½ cup of shortening
1 cup of sugar
½ cup of brown sugar
1 egg
1 ¼ cups of flour
2 cups of rice krispies cereal
1 tablespoon of baking powder
½ teaspoon of salt
½ cup of raisins mixed with ½ cup of strong coffee
¼ teaspoon of each of : ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon
1 teaspoon of vanilla
½ cup of shortening
1 cup of sugar
½ cup of brown sugar
1 egg
1 ¼ cups of flour
2 cups of rice krispies cereal
1 tablespoon of baking powder
½ teaspoon of salt
½ cup of raisins mixed with ½ cup of strong coffee
¼ teaspoon of each of : ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon
1 teaspoon of vanilla
In a small bowl, mix the raisins with the coffee and the spices and let it stand while you are mixing the other ingredients.
In another small bowl, mix together the shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla together. In another bowl, mix the flour, cereal, baking powder, salt together. Add the dry ingredients to the first mix, finishing by the raisins.
Form little balls of dough and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes at 350F.
