Not too sweet, just the right amount of peanut butter mixed with the chocolate to have a wonderful semi-hard cookie, that would be perfect to carry around in a closed container.

I have used Dark Chocolate Star for the top but you could use anything, little piece of candy fruit, dry raisins, broken candies, walnuts, jam, etc… Use your imagination for this one; the main ingredients are already in your cupboard. Cover your cookie sheet with wax paper to prevent the cookie to expend too much on the sheet.

½ cup of shortening
1 cup of brown sugar, packed
1 tsp of milk
1 tsp of vanilla extract
½ cup of peanut butter
1 egg
1 1/3 cups of flour
1 tsp of baking soda
½ tsp of salt
Granulated sugar for rolling cookies in
Little pieces of candies, chocolates, etc for the topping

Heat oven at 350F

Combine the 6 first ingredients and mix well together. Add the flour, baking soda, salt to the first mix.

Use a tablespoon and form little balls with the mix. Drop the balls in sugar and place on a well greased cookie sheet, one inch apart.

Bake for 13 minutes, remove and immediately press down on each cookie, the topping: chocolate, etc… Let them cool. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
